The room had all the necessary amenities, including a flat-screen TV, snacks and drinks for purchase, and a mini-fridge. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, with plenty of towels and toiletries for my comfort.
My first impression of the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel was extremely positive. The hotel exceeded my expectations, from the warm and welcoming staff to the thoughtful amenities and beautiful decor. I couldn’t wait to explore the rest of the hotel and experience what Taos had to offer.
I highly recommend the Encanto room for a luxurious and comfortable stay at the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel in Taos. From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by this beautiful space’s elegant and cozy atmosphere.
When I say each room at the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel is uniquely designed and themed, it is true. Even the down to having a specially curated playlist for the room. You can access the Spotify playlist by scanning the QR code next to the T.V., which looks like the image below.
Also, “Allow yourself to exist in a feather-light free fall into this magical room. With art from local writer and author Anita Rodriguez’s. Her Magic Night inspired this space. This room comes with a copper soaking tub for guests to enjoy its healing properties, ” as the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel website mentions.
The room features a king-sized bed with high-quality linens and pillows, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The fireplace in the corner of the room adds a warm and inviting touch, perfect for snuggling up with a good book or enjoying a glass of wine.
One of the standout features of the Encanto room is the private indoor copper tub, which is perfect for relaxing and soaking in the breathtaking New Mexico scenery.
The bathroom in the Encanto room is equally luxurious, with a large walk-in shower and spa-like amenities. The hotel also provides complimentary bathrobes and slippers, adding extra comfort to your stay.
My experience staying in the Encanto room was exceptional. The attention to detail and high-quality amenities make it well worth the price. I highly recommend this room for couples or anyone looking for a romantic and luxurious getaway in Taos.
One of the things I loved most about the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel was the abundance of amenities available to guests. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was in a true oasis of comfort and relaxation.
One standout feature of the hotel was the copper tub, the perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring the town. I enjoyed soaking in the tub each night, which was clean and well-maintained, and the tub kept the perfect heat.
As previously mentioned, the rooms had all the necessary amenities, including a flat-screen TV, snacks and drinks for purchase, and a mini-fridge. If you need to warm up food, there’s a microwave in the eating area.
The hotel’s breakfast was another standout amenity. Each morning, guests could enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast featuring a range of delicious options, including pastries and fresh coffee. The coffee is from a local coffee roaster which tasted amazing. It was the perfect way to start the day and fuel up for a day of adventure in Taos.
Another notable feature of the hotel was its happy hour, which had recently acquired a liquor license. This meant that guests could now enjoy a range of handcrafted cocktails and local beers while lounging by the pool or relaxing in the hot tub.
I was extremely impressed by the range of amenities at the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel. Every detail, from the delicious breakfast to the luxurious hot tub, was designed to ensure guests had a truly memorable and enjoyable stay.
One of the highlights of my stay at the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel was the breakfast included. Happily served and cooked by the owners. Every breakfast was always the best meal of the day.
The hotel offered a hot breakfast menu with avocado toast and local-styled New Mexican dishes (see the pic below). Everything was delicious and a great way to start the day before exploring Taos.
The hotel also offers guests happy hour with drinks and appetizers. I was lucky enough to stay at the hotel for the hotel’s first one ever on a Sunday. The drink choices are excellent and local, and the appetizers were nice. Please get the chips and guaco. You’ll enjoy the fresh homemade taste.
The happy hour also served as a great opportunity to meet other guests staying at the hotel and chat about our experiences in Taos.
Plus, the touch of sitting next to a fire pit outside in the low 60s temperature is part of the culture of Taos. The ambiance that evening was special.
I thought the breakfast and happy hour were excellent regarding value and quality. The hotel puts a lot of effort into providing guests with quality food and drink options, which I appreciated.
One of the unique features of the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel in Taos is the presence of their hens on the property. These beautiful birds don’t roam the hotel, so don’t worry. But the owners would gladly let you see them. Be careful the fence is electric-proof to ensure the hens are kept safe.
Not only do the hens add to the hotel’s ambiance, but they also provide fresh eggs for the hotel’s breakfast service. The hotel takes pride in using locally sourced and organic ingredients, and the eggs from their hens are no exception.
If you love animals or enjoy a touch of whimsy in your surroundings, check out the hens at the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel. And if you can try their fresh eggs for breakfast, I highly recommend it. It’s a delicious and satisfying way to start your day in Taos.
Desert Flower Boutique Hotel offered on-site activities during my stay.
I used the hotel’s eating area to work during my stay, which had games, including Taos Opoly, aka Taos’ Monopoly. Taos’ Monopoly is a unique twist on the classic board game Monopoly, created to showcase the town’s local businesses and community. Instead of buying properties like Park Place and Boardwalk, players can purchase and invest in businesses like Taos Mesa Brewing, Cid’s Food Market, and more. It’s a fun and interactive way to explore the town and support local businesses simultaneously.
The tub in the room was also a wonderful way to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring Taos. In addition to the hot tub, the hotel has a charming courtyard area with seating where guests can relax and enjoy the outdoors.
As for recommendations for activities in the Taos area, there is no shortage of things to see and do. The hotel is a 10 min ride from the Taos Plaza, a great place to explore the town. From there, I would recommend checking out the Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to a Native American community that has been living in the area for over 1,000 years.
The area has plenty of hiking trails for outdoor enthusiasts, including the popular Williams Lake Trail, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is also a must-see attraction that offers breathtaking views of the Rio Grande River and canyon.
There are so many activities to enjoy in the Taos area, and the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel is the perfect base camp to explore from.
The Desert Flower Boutique Hotel offers a unique and comfortable stay and boasts a boutique store on the property. The store carries a carefully curated selection of items, including coffee, clothing, and accessories, all sourced from local artisans.
Guests can peruse the store at their leisure, taking in the beautiful artwork and craftsmanship of the displayed items. It’s a great opportunity to take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir or gift for a loved one while supporting the local community.
The boutique store also reflects the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism. By featuring locally made products, the hotel reduces its carbon footprint by minimizing the need for long-distance shipping and supports the local economy by promoting small businesses.
Whether you’re in search of a unique piece of clothing or hand lotion to keep your hands moisturized during your stay in Taos, the boutique store at the Desert Flower Boutique Hotel is worth a visit.
You’ll not only find beautiful and meaningful items, but you’ll also be supporting the local community and engaging in sustainable tourism practices.
